Good to know about the no follow attribute and you can’t just get a link from submitting to most social sites however if the content is interesting enough others will write about and link back to it.

This goes back to the old rule “content is king”

Some ‘food for thought’ Garry. You have certainly covered a lot of information in this article which is very topical and useful. Your article has made me think a lot more about the effect of social bookmarking. Being only relatively new to IM, I also appreciate your user friendly explanation of the nofollow attribute.
Finally, you have touched on the importance of gaining backlinks to compete for those higher competitive words in Google. Given the importance of backlinks, I for one would appreciate a follow up article on the best ways or processes in obtaining backlinks.
