BuddyPress has come a long way, to the extent that there are specific themes aimed at the offering of buddypress.org The vendor that caught my eye named themselves BuddyDress.com Well, I never! That is really tongue in cheek! Hahahah.

If you're looking for a free and open source platform to build your own social network on you really don't need to look any further than BuddyPress. With WordPress as its backbone you just can not go wrong. Your system will never become obsolete, with free upgrades. Who can ask for more than that?

I've been playing with wordpress mu & buddypress for a few weeks now at http://www.MicroPals.com. I have to say it's awesome. I love the ease of setup, functionality and plugins that are available to use. We even install the itouch plugin for mobile use. Amazing.

We haven't customized the design all that much, we've been concentrating on the functionality of it all.

We look forward to more development of buddypress as time goes on.
